Under Armour Shoes for Overpronation

Overpronation is a mechanical issue with your feet where they roll inwards towards the ankles excessively. The condition could relatively cause no problems however in some cases the individual may have pain, discomfort, or other issues caused by over-pronation.

Overpronation Explained

You naturally pronate which forms part of the gait (the way you walk or run), that is supported by the arches of your feet.

When you overpronate your feet roll inward more excessively than they should which in turn causes or arches to flatten and places strain on muscles, tendons, and ligaments supporting your arches.

Your arches help to distribute the weight of your body more evenly and also absorb impact when walking and running. However, Overpronation causes them to flatten which in turn can interfere with their function causing other issues.

Overpronation can cause an injury risk to your feet and ankles, though you can do certain exercises, or wear shoes for Overpronation that could help to correct the problem.

Generally, people who have very flat arches or which are overweight will tend to overpronate, and individuals which run or walk on hard surfaces regularly.

Overpronation can lead to flat feet, as your arches flatten when you overpronate, similarly flat feet or collapsed arches can lead to overpronation.

Shoes for Overpronation

Under Armour shoes are mainly athletic shoes that are ideal for Overpronation, they have running shoes, Cross trainers, and trail shoes available.
You Get two types of athletic shoes, Stability Shoes, or Neutral shoes, stability shoes can also have features that in turn make them more of a motion control shoe, which I will explain further.

  • Motion Control Shoes – Firstly, for four individuals that overpronate severely a motion control shoe will be prescribed. This will usually be an athletic shoe or a running shoe. H Motion control shoes are designed for people who are usually heavier in weight, or who have very flat feet, and whoever pronate excessively. They prevent your feet from rolling inward excessively during every state that you take. And they are much stiffer and heavier than neutral or stability shoes.
  • Neutral Shoes – Unless specified most athletic shoes or neutral shoes or neutral running shoes, these shoes generally just have regular cushioning and support features, and not enough special features to address overpronation properly. They have a slight level of support and protection and bouncy cushioning.
  • Stability Shoes – The stability shoe is somewhere in between the motion control shoe and the neutral shoe. And as usually prescribed for runners, that overpronate moderately. It provides excellent support throughout the midsole and the heel. And it has a more rigid soul that provides stability when you walk or run. It does not excessively control motion, but rather just prevents light stability.
