Skechers® Orthopedic Shoes

Although not entirely Orthopedic, Skechers offer a range of Podiatrist recommended shoes, as well as shoes with Orthopedic support and comfort features, with wider widths and removable layers.

For these reasons, we will look at the top Skechers® Orthopedic shoes that feature these characteristics.

Why You May Need Orthopedic Shoes

Orthopedic shoes are designed to support the foot, ankles, and legs properly. Mostly they are designed with a more specific use in mind, such as Diabetic shoes, shoes for cerebral palsy, and other conditions.

Most orthopedic shoes are designed to relieve a specific medical condition or are generally just a more comfortable option for elderly persons r persons who experience foot pain.

Orthopedic shoes are different from regular shoes in how they are designed. They have some characteristics that make them more exceptional. Orthopedic shoes are always available in wider widths and mostly offer removable layers to use your orthotics. Orthopedic shoes have taller upper soles and are roomier in the toe box. They offer added cushioning and support systems for underfoot protection and usually have non-irritating linings and seamless designs for less friction.

Most Orthopedic shoes also come with easier slip-on styles or Velcro closures besides just the lace-up systems.

Orthopedic shoes will help promote your growth and posture and provide pain relief and comfort to help keep you mobile.

If you suffer from painful foot conditions, or have improper alignment and struggle to move, then an Orthopedic shoe may be just what you need.

Similarly, Orthopedic shoes provide much relief for other foot deformities and conditions such as hammertoe, Bunions, Diabetic Feet, and Arthritis.

  • Uppers – Skechers shoes come with a variety of uppers materials from leather and textile to engineered mesh, flat knit, and other synthetic uppers. Depending on the model, the uppers may provide a more sock-like and flexible fit or a roomy and relaxed fit.
  • Cushioning and Midsole – Skechers uses a few different cushioning systems and contoured footbeds and Arch support in their arch fit range. The Hyper Burst cushioning is responsive and lightweight, while the memory foam molds and contours to the shape of your feet. Then there is the Air Cooled Goga Mat cushioning that is high-rebound and cooling, as well as the more breathable Ortholite cushioning. Ultra Go cushioning and Pillar technology are also used for added support.

  • Options – Skechers shoes are available in wider width options, extended sizes, and usually many color varieties.
