Keep in mind that your feet hold the weight of your entire body. And when you walk or stand, you’ll fit absorb the impact. Most shoes that are recommended for standing all day would be a more Orthopedic type work shoe, or an athletic shoe that has many comfort and support features such as cushioning and stability features.[2] However, they are fewer dress shoes that have these features. So we need to do in-depth research to get dress shoes that offer proper support for standing all day.
- Cushioning – First of all, your dress shoe needs to have a good cushioning system, a comfortable and soft cushioned insole, and a more supportive firm midsole that is ideal to absorb impact and to reduce strain on your feet and ankles.
- Fit – Secondly, your shoes need to fit comfortably. You want to see that has a wider and more roomy so box so that you can easily spread out your toes in the shoe.
- Support – Support features will mostly depend on your foot shape, especially what type of Arch you have. For low and flat arc types, I will advise a stability shoe that has a bit more arch support, whereas normal arch types and higher arch types are more cushioned or a neutral shoot design is ideal.
- Durability – Then lastly the outsole of the shoe needs to be durable and offer good traction, especially if you are standing on hard and slippery flow surfaces. Rubber outsoles are the most desirable as they offer good traction and they are generally more durable.

- Uppers – Most dress shoes will have leather uppers that are more formal in design, consisting of genuine, or synthetic leather types. The shoes need to have a roomy and wide-toe box and a more relaxed fit.
